Steampunk Canvas

I recently took a class at Pages in Time. This canvas is Finnabair (Prima) inspired. We did stencils with texture paste and then added a lot of metal, flowers, and buttons. We then painted everything black and sprayed with Prima Color Blooms.

Canvas

This is a 16 x 20 canvas that I did at the Cozy Crop House this week. I started by adhering several different tissue papers for the background. I then put a light coat of gesso over the papers. I drew the vase, painted it with acrylic painted and then used a Tim Holtz stencil and molding paste to decorate it. I then stenciled flowers with acrylic paint in the background. I added prima flowers and metal butterflies.

Rock Solid

I made this canvas for a challenge at a local stamp store (Pages in Time). The theme was Rock Solid. I decided to go with a couple who were committed to each other. We were given the pebbles stencil and viva Croco (silver) to work with. I used my cloud stencil and two shades of Distress ink blue for my background. The dolls are from Prima. He has a tie that matches her dress and the dragonflies were cut out of the same paper.

It's Cold Outside

This is my most recent mixed media kit from Pages in Time. The theme was "It's Cold Outside". I had bought the Dyan Reavely stamps the day I picked up the kit. My friend who does these kits with me challenged me to use what I had purchased that day to make my canvas.

Another Prima Boy challenge. After I dressed him, he looked like he was ready to explore. I cut circles in half to form the rocks.

Play

I have been playing with the Prima Boy Paper Dolls. I have found them to be more challenging than the girls. I thought this came out cute with his skateboard and paper airplanes.

Seasons

This is my mixed media canvas challenge for the month of November. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint and then used Archival inks to stencil trees onto the canvas. I found the big brown tree in my stash. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks to color paper for all my leaves. There are some leaves done with orange embossing powder, since that was included in the kit. The embellishment that was included was a large, heavy Graphic 45 clothespin. I took it apart and cover it with leaves. The final step was dots of gold stickles scattered throughout the tree.

I then added the birds. Then did some stenciling with the Tim Holtz stencils using texture paste and acrylic paint.  Finally, I added some small black dots.

Christmas Trees

I have been playing with mixed media a lot. I saw a canvas similar to this at a scrapbooking store and decided I needed to CASE it. The background is old music that I tore up into small pieces. The trees are all patterned paper that were distressed with Tim Holtz Distress inks. I added the little snowflake embellishments, coloring the ones on the top of the trees with copics.

Harvest Canvas

I do a monthly mixed media challenge every month at a local stamp store. The theme this monthy was Harvest. I used a variety of products on this card including Silks paints, acrylic paints,  and Viva 3D stamp paint. The pumpkins and fence post/wagon wheel were watercolored. There was washi tape in the kit, so I used that for the "Thanks"
